If you want something moving or complicated, you should try watching "The Blind Side" and "It's Complicated. One can touch your heart and the other can keep you entertained by its tangles of complicated affairs. Read on for these two films that you shouldn't miss.
Preview of “The Blind Side”
"The Blind Side" is the rags to riches story of the African-American NFL player Michael Oher. Oher was a homesless youngster who have no one and nothing to cling on to. But with the help of a family, Touhys, Oher learned to dream and worked hard to make it come true. The story was based on the book written by Michael Lewis. The film stars Sandra Bullock, who was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, Quinton Aaron, and Tim McGraw.
Movie review of “It's Complicated”
"It's Complicated" is about the complicated relationship of Jane (Meryl Streep) with the two men in her life. Jane has an affair with her ex-husband, Jake and at the same time has a blooming relationship with an architect, named Adam. Find out how Jane untangled herself from the web of relationships she found herself in.
These two films are worth watching. Both films captivate the audience by their moving plots.

Meryl Streep is a true Hollywood star. She can make it anywhere, anytime, any place. I still remember watching her old movies and watching her now only proves her dominance in the Hollywood industry. She's stunning to watch, and even if she's the lead role, she gave way for other stellar cast to shine.
Even when she's considered as a serious, award-winning actress, she derails from type cast roles and delivers a witty performance. I'd say that 'The Devil Wears Prada" is a wonderful hit. When you step out of the movie house, all you'll have to say is you had a good time. It's your worth every penny. It's light and funny, sincere to its story from a book. For once, Hollywood gave justice to the actual book narrative with its screenplay.
Perhaps, we could all relate to the characters in the story. Ain't it fun to watch how a boss drives her inferior staffs to crazy spins! And for Meryl Streep, she's timeless!
The fashionable fabrics of each role and its remarkable screenplay is among the best attributes of the film. Saucy, naive and funny, these are the enticing movie combos in the movie "The Devil Wears Prada". The fluidity of scenes and unfolding character is the viable factor in watching the movie. To its true essence, you'll seat back and relax!

I was forced to watch Nanny McPhee with my niece. I thought that I was too old for those kinds of movies. But, to my surprise, I think I enjoyed the movie more than my niece did! I was so amused by the dark comedy of it all that I suddenly wondered if it was really intended for the kids! But, as the story goes, it teaches a lot of valuable lessons that you won't really find in common fairytale books.
Nanny McPhee is about this unpleasant-looking nanny who appears out of nowhere to take care of seven wildly disruptive kids. Emma Thompson plays Nanny McPhee and I must say, she was wonderful and very realistic. If you didn't know her, you'd think she's really that, well, ugly. Colin Firth plays the father of the seven wild kids. Then, there's the refreshing Kelly Macdonald who plays the servant girl Evangeline. As the story progresses, you'll see how Evangeline turns into a beautiful swan. Everything in this movie is so magical and animated. This movie is just pure entertainment.
There's never a dull moment in the scenes. Nanny McPhee is a must-see movie. You'll appreciate the really hard-working nannies in your homes after you see this, believe me.

The oil in the world has lessened to almost fifty percent and fifty percent of this is at the Middle East. Oil is a major necessity in all countries. It decides the cost of transportation and even the prices of commodities in the market.
The release of Syriana is impeccably timed. Syriana is about the lives surrounding and affected by the oil industry. George Clooney stars as a CIA operative discovering the ill-effects of the work he has been committed to for almost all his life. Matt Damon acts as an oil broker who has been saved from family misery by a Gulf prince. Jeffrey Wright is a lawyer in this movie who has a knock of the conscience as he try to smoothen the process of the merger of two major U.S oil companies. Lastly, international star Mazhar Munir acts as a Pakistani teenager who is recruited by a cleric to work for him.
The story unfolds to show to the audience the greed for oil of countries including Americans. The connection in the story shows how it affects each of the characters and the global oil industry. Written and directed by Stephen Gaghan of "Traffic" fame, this suspense-thriller is packed with eye-opening scenes and dramatic excellence. Syriana is nominated for two Oscars.

North Country is a movie based on the landmark lawsuit, Jenson vs Eveleth Mines, which paved the way for new rights for women in the work field. This event has opened the minds of legislators and judicial members into making stricter rules about preventing harassment in the workplace, especially for women.
Charlize Theron, gives a stunning performance as the lead, Josey Aimes. Recently divorced from her abusive husband, Aimes struggles to make a living for her two children. She lives with her parents and she then creates a friendship with Frances McDormand's character, Glory, and finds out about a well-paying job in a nearby minefield.
While at work, she founds out about the several harassments men place on their women co-workers. Obscenities and indignities are suffered by women. When the brutal men go too far for Josey Aimes, she started to seek help form her female co-workers but none were ready to sacrifice their source of income. The situation worsens and she decides to sue the minefield.
She gets the help of lawyer Bill White, acted by Woody Harrelson. What results is a triumph for Aimes and women all over America.
This film is directed by Niki Caro of Whale Rider fame. This movie is also another nomination for Charlize Theron in the Academy Awards for Best Actress and a Supporting Actress Nomination for Frances McDormand.

The movie tells of the experience that a girlfriend encounters when she goes to meet her boyfriend's Bohemian family. The Stones greet Meredith (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) with some hostility and confusion. There is such a big contrast between Meredith and the family Stone. Meredith is uptight as the Stones are sociable. Try as Meredith might, she just can't quite fit in in this family. She resolves to ask help from her sister, Julie (played by Claire Danes). Unfortunately, Julie's appearance in the Stone abode makes matters even worse.
At the end of the holiday season, the family resolves issues that each member has. Relationships blossom. It is possible to meet Julie, Meredith, and the Stones in the real world. Check out the movie and see how fun you'll get from watching this comedy film.

Syriana is a movie that isn't afraid to make us think. It's a smart, calculating beast of a film that engrosses you and actually makes you care about the characters running across your movie screen.
Syriana tells the story of many characters, ranging from down-on-his-luck CIA man George Clooney to aspiring energy analyst Matt Damon, all coming together in a complicated plot revolving around an oil-rich fictional nation somewhere in the Middle East (so scratch those travel plans, guys), and all the trouble that comes with being so laden with oil.
Thought provoking and socially relevant, Syriana is a movie that is sure to make a mark on you.

Your, Mine and Ours is another comedy made in the vein of the recent Cheaper By the Dozen movie, and is perhaps a sub-genre in itself, the big family movie. In Yours, Mine and Ours, two single parents, played by Dennis Quaid and Rene Russo, and also former high school sweethearts, rekindle their old love and marry. What they didn't count on was that the merging of their families would result in a very large one of nearly 20!
I wouldn't recommend Yours, Mine and Ours as a date movie, simply because it deals with the implications of two people moving and living in together, which is perhaps something far from the minds of those who are still dating.
The conflict and hilarity of this movie comes from the contrasting styles of the two parents of the large brood: Dennis Quaid runs his household in a strict, military-style mode of parenting, while Rene Russo's style encourages freedom of expression.
Yours, Mine and Ours is still currently in theaters.

Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon star in this moving and stirring drama about the life and times of the Man in Black himself, Johnny Cash. The film, titled Walk the Line, chronicles Johnny Cash's humble beginnings in an Arkansas cotton farm to his success in Memphis, Tennessee where he recorded songs alongside other music legends like Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Jerry Lee Lewis.
But aside from being an account of Johnny Cash's rise to fame, it also is a look into the private lives of Cash and his wife June Carter. Their lives are dotted with pain, tragedy and triumph. Both leads give great performances here, and their chemistry is nothing short of amazing. Already there are numerous praises for their work, and the Academy buzz is now sounding off for these two.
Walk the Line is currently playing in theaters.

Disney's newest animated feature, Chicken Little, is the House of Mouse's latest attempt to get back on top of the animation heap in Hollywood. Having been trounced by Pixar at the box-office, Disney hopes that this update of the old children's story will draw back the droves that used to watch their animation.
Chicken Little chronicles the misadventures of the titular character, whose overactive imagination often gets him into trouble. But when a piece of the sky falls, it's up to him and his group of outcast friends to save the day.
Will Chicken Little find out the mystery of the falling sky? Will they be able to save the town before it's too late? Can Disney knock Pixar off the top of the mountain and be king again? Watch Chicken Little and find out.

The Legend of Zorro serves audiences a hefty serving of swashbuckling adventure, and not once does it make the audience gag. The first movie was an enjoyable mix of action, comedy, romance and mystery and this sequel is proudly continuing this tradition.
Antonio Banderas dons the mask again and his wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) is beginning to feel the strain of being married to a hero. Add the dastardly machinations of an unknown enemy intent on derailing California's entry into the union, and you've got the makings of a very volatile situation.
If you love action and comedy, with a little romance and intrigue, then The Legend of Zorro is the film for you. Although a bit on the long side, the action zooms by so fast you hardly notice.
The Legend of Zorro is still playing in theaters nationwide.

Tired of those thrillers that wind up about as enjoyable as a peptic ulcer? Or those movies that make you groan with disbelief? Well, catch a break this time with the thriller Derailed, starring Brit hunk Clive Owen and ex-Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, trying to make a name for herself as a dramatic actress.
Derailed tells the story of two people, played by Aniston and Owen, who engage in an illicit affair, but whose lives are complicated further when a brutal blackmailer (played by French actor Vincent Cassel) threatens to expose the liaison. What follows is a harrowing experience for all involved, culminating in a violent and fatal end.
Derailed is a suspense thriller worth watching, if only for the acting chops displayed here by the cast. It is currently showing in theatres.

Jodie Foster's current movie, Flightplan, tells the unnerving story of one woman's struggle to regain her daughter and her sanity, as she is faced with skepticism and doubt as to whether or not she really did get on the plane with her daughter.
Waking up after a nap on the flight to find her daughter missing, Jodie Foster's character is now being told that she boarded the plane alone and that her daughter was just a figment of her shattered psyche. Will she find out the truth about her situation? Catch the movie and find out. I'm not going to spoil it for you.

This is one movie that proves that you don't need a flavor-of-the-month actor to make a good movie. Although to be fair, there are movies out there with those kinds of actors which bombed, but I digress.
March of the Penguins is the English version of the French film La Marche de l'empereur, a documentary about the saga and struggle of Emperor Penguins as they march over the ice wasteland they call home to find a suitable mate and breeding ground. It is not a documentary you will see on the Discovery channel; in fact this depicts life on the ice as it really is: Harsh, brutal and truly shows us that nature's law of survival of the fittest is fully in effect.
March of the Penguins casts the venerable Morgan Freeman as the narrator. The film is still currently in theaters.

This movie has an interesting concept. Imagine, a whole school of superheroes learning about their powers and themselves. Although done to death in recent movies and features (thank you X-Men!) Sky High gives us a look at how a school where not all students are equal in powers would turn out.
Like in today's schools, the students in Sky High are divided into cliques. There are the heroes, those who possess awesome powers, and the sidekicks, the less fortunate beings of marginal strength.
The movie focuses on Will Stronghold, the son of Earth's mightiest hero, Snak...I mean The Commander, played by Kurt Russell. Will, who apparently has no powers, must deal with his seeming weakness in the day-to-day trials of life in Sky High, a school located up in the sky.
I won't go into any more detail, but I can tell you that my favorite heroine makes an appearance here...even without her golden lasso.
