The tragedy of 9/11 will forever be remembered not only in the
history of America but also in the whole world. Hollywood has been careful and sensitive in making films that are associated with 9/11. Since the incident just happened barely five years ago, unlike Titanic or Pearl Harbor, the sensitivity of the subject to be put on film is being carefully considered by movie producers today.
However,
United 93, the first Hollywood movie about the 9/11 attack, deals with the event in an accurate, not over-dramatized, and powerfully moving fashion. The director, Paul Greengrass, opt to approach the film in a documentary-like manner bringing truthfulness and natural human drama throughout the film. There is no DeCaprio or Pitt in the roll call, but I think it is much better that way. Above all, the movie does not intend to focus on a single person; it wants to tell that all the passengers in flight 93 are heroes to be considered.
United 93 tells the heroism and courage made by the passengers in the hi-jacked airline. The movie is very compelling. You will never leave the theater without wiping those tears. Indeed, this movie is a must-see film that honors the heroes of September 11.
